2017 CSAC Award Winner!




San Bernardino County Transitional Assistance Department is the recipient of a California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Award!

  • Housing Support Program (HSP) - HSP partnership with Transitional Assistance, the Housing Authority/KEYS and Behavioral Health begins with TANF families who at application, redetermination, or any other time identify themselves as homeless.  Once identified the family is referred to a Homeless Assistance Eligibility Worker (EW).

Voices are like thumb prints - they are unique!

Voices have over 3,000 specific recognition points. Biometric Voice software allows you to use your voice as your password instead of entering your case number and Personal Identification Number (PIN) each time you call the Customer Service Center (CSC).  Click the image below for more information:

2016 NACo Award Winner!
San Bernardino County Transitional Assistance Department is the recipient of 3 National Association of Counties (NACo) Awards!

  • TAD Processing Center-  Through a combined collaboration with the TAD Customer Service Center (CSC), and local district offices, the Processing Center implemented an efficient process to allow referrals and applications to be processed timely and improve processing efficiency by 32% since the initial open enrollment period.
  • TAD Leaders in Action Workshop - The TAD LiA Workshop Program was created in September 2014 to provide a foundation for mentoring relationships aimed at promoting individual growth and development. It creates a consistent training program and encourages staff to become future leaders of the TAD organization.
  • Housing Support Program (HSP) - HSP partnership with Transitional Assistance, the Housing Authority/KEYS and Behavioral Health begins with TANF families who at application, redetermination, or any other time identify themselves as homeless.  Once identified the family is referred to a Homeless Assistance Eligibility Worker (EW). 
  • Family Stabilization (FS) - FS is a voluntary program offered to eligible WTW customers and involves a strong collaboration built between TAD, DBH, ARMC and community-based organizations.  This collaboration works to address customer needs, provide necessary services for self-sufficiency, and to prevent recidivism of barriers to self-sufficiency.
